She followed up with another question, “Doesn’t it make the most sense to invest in the vehicle which gives you the most return?” Since then I have aggressively pursued more knowledge and invested more time, money and energy to enhance myself and my business. It has paid off on so many levels.
At this moment, I am sitting in attendance at the National Strength & Conditioning Association’s Southwest Regional Conference at California State University at Sacramento. 150 colleagues are in attendance. Professionals ranging from personal trainers to athletic trainers, chiropractors to physical therapists, and P.E. teachers to strength coaches. They have traveled from all over the western United States to learn more about what they love doing: improving people’s lives and helping them reach their potential.
Topics include “Considerations for Developing and Coaching the Youth Athlete,” “Movement Assessment Techniques,” “Reactive Agility: Training Progressions to Develop the Explosive Athlete,” and “Reignite Your Passion: Discover Your “Why” and Develop Your Training Philosophy.” I just finished speaking to the group about Senior Strength & Conditioning and the programs we offer at Rocky’s and Dignity Dominican Hospital.
I love to be surrounded by people who have passion and a desire to improve their understanding of what they love to do. There are so many trainers willing to share their experience and knowledge that I just eat it up. It is said that you can tell a lot about a person by the company they keep. If there is anything to that statement, then I feel quite blessed to be where I am in my life.
